About this speaker
Stephanie Jackman LCSW-R, MS is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 19 years of experience in children and family
services and mental health. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Sociology at State University of New York College at
Buffalo. She went on to earn a Master of Social Work degree from Roberts Wesleyan College. Furthering her education and
knowledge base, she earned an additional Master’s in Human Development from the University of Rochester.
Stephanie is a native of Rochester, New York, where she currently is the owner of Stephanie Jackman LCSW PLLC a behavioral
health group private practice office and serves as a Mental Health Consultant. Stephanie provides consultation, program
development and implementation, training to local and federal government agencies, educational institutions, faith-based
organizations, therapeutic milieus, correctional facilities, and human service agencies. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-R
and a behavioral health office we provide strength based individual and family therapy supporting youth and families
experiencing life stressors. In addition, the office provides psychoeducation to youth, families and communities related to the
impact of mental illness on human growth and development on a micro, mezzo and macro level. Currently the office has
contracts within the Monroe, Orleans and Niagara Counties of Western New York area.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has designed and facilitated workshops and presentations to educators, parents, couples, and
practitioners throughout Monroe County and New York State. Workshops and presentations include the 2014 Faith Communities
Mental Health Conference with Agape Counseling Associates and the STEP Statewide Student Conference from 2015-2019. She
resumed facilitating with STEP post pandemic in 2023. In April 2019, Stephanie was a workshop presenter at the 1st Annual
Man2Man Conference hosted by The Jackman Group, LLC. In November 2019, Stephanie partnered with the Mighty Momma's
organization. She provided a workshop for single mothers on Overcoming the Trauma of a Breakup. In recognition of May 2021
Mental Health Awareness Month, Stephanie was the Guest Presenter for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Excellus African American
Employee Resource Group’s virtual “Mental Health in the Black Community” workshop. In July 2021, she was the Guest
Speaker for “A Time of Healing”, Church of Love Faith Center in Rochester, NY Women’s Weekend Retreat. On February 19,
2022, she was the Guest Presenter for the virtual workshop “Mental Health & the Black Community” for the Mt. Carmel Baptist
Church in Seabrook, South Carolina. In April 2023, Stephanie was selected as the professional development presenter for the 29th
Annual CSTEP Statewide Student Conference, presenting on navigating self-care post a pandemic work, “Managing the Weights
of Leadership”. Stephanie presented at the D’Youville University CSTEP 2nd
Annual Summer Enrichment Research Program in
May 2023. Stephanie has conducted digital webinars to fellow social work practitioners to assist with continuing education
credits and professional development in accordance with New York State credentialing. In the Spring of 2019-2021, Stephanie
became an Adjunct Lecturer for the State University of New York College at Brockport, where she taught in the Social Work
Department. In September 2022, Stephanie was featured in the Rochester Beacon, a newspaper publication. She was interviewed
in the publication and discussed the racial gaps within the mental health system and the challenges of finding culturally
competent practitioners of color to serve those in need of mental health services in the Black community. In January 2024,
Stephanie launched her live broadcast, Ur BEST Unleashed! The broadcast can be found on YouTube.
In 2012, Stephanie received the Cultural Linguistic Competence Award from the Monroe County Systems of Care in recognition
of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day.
She is an avid supporter of women pursuing careers in social work or mental health, providing mentoring and sponsorship.
Stephanie desires to empower individuals and families to cope with life's stressors through a mental, physical, and spiritual
system of care.
